LinkkerThe short version: we store your account and the links you save so Linkker can sync them across your devices and sort them for you. Files you send between your phone and computer travel over your own Wi-Fi, not through our servers. We don’t sell your data. You can delete your account at any time.
1. Introduction
Linkker (“Linkker”, “we”, “us”) is developed and operated by Nikhil Biju. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use Linkker, including our iPhone app, Android app, Chrome extension and this website (together, the “Service”).
By using Linkker, you agree to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
You sign in to Linkker with Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. From your chosen provider we receive:
- Your name and email address (with Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email, in which case we receive an Apple relay address)
- Your profile picture, if your provider shares one
- A unique account identifier and authentication tokens, used to keep you signed in securely
We never receive your Google or Apple password.
2.2 Content you save
- The URLs you save, and the titles, descriptions and notes attached to them
- Collections, folders and categories you create or that are suggested for you
- Settings on individual links, such as marking a link as protected or “Not safe for work”
- Page metadata we fetch for saved links: page title, description, thumbnail image and site name
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system and version, app version, language
- Usage and diagnostic data: features used, errors and performance information
- For phone-to-computer transfer: the device name and local network address of your paired devices, and whether they are currently online (see section 5)
- In the Android app: app events and device identifiers collected by the Facebook App Events SDK (see section 7)
2.4 Clipboard and browser tabs
To offer to save a link you just copied, the apps may check your clipboard for a web address when you open them. Clipboard contents are only sent to us if you choose to save the link. The Chrome extension reads the address and title of the current tab only when you ask it to save that tab; it does not track your browsing history.
2.5 Purchases
If you subscribe to Linkker Pro, we receive the status of your subscription (plan, start and renewal dates, and a transaction reference) from the store or payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card number.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the Service: store your links and collections, sync them across your devices, and show them to you
- To organise your links: suggest categories automatically (see section 4) and power search
- To connect your devices: help your phone and computer find each other on your local network
- To manage subscriptions: unlock Pro features and handle billing questions
- To keep Linkker secure: authenticate you and detect abuse or fraud
- To improve Linkker: understand which features are used and fix bugs
- To support you: reply when you contact us
4. AI categorisation of saved links
When you save a link, Linkker uses automated systems, which may include AI models run by our service providers on our behalf, to suggest a category for it (for example “Recipes” or “Read later”). To do this we process the link’s URL and the page metadata described in section 2.2. We do not include your name or email address in this processing. You can change or remove any suggested category.
5. Phone-to-computer transfer
Linkker can send links and files between your phone and your computer (via the Chrome extension) after you pair them by scanning a QR code.
- Transfers stay on your network. Links and files are sent directly between your devices over your local Wi-Fi network. File contents are not uploaded to our servers.
- Device lookup. To help your devices find each other, our servers keep a small record for each device you use with transfer: a device identifier, the device name, its local network address and port, and when it was last online. This record is linked to your account and is deleted when you delete your account.
- Pairing. Pairing creates a session token stored on both devices. You can unpair at any time in the app.
6. Protected and “Not safe for work” links
Links you mark as protected or “Not safe for work” are hidden in the apps until you unlock them with your PIN, Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint. Biometric checks are performed by your device’s operating system. We never receive your fingerprint or face data. Hiding a link changes how it is displayed; the link itself is still stored with your account so it can sync to your other devices.
8. Data security
- Encryption: data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our hosting providers
- Access controls: strict authentication for access to our systems
- Monitoring: we monitor for security threats and vulnerabilities
- Backups: regular encrypted backups to prevent data loss
No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: delete your account and data (see Delete your account)
- Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection and restriction: object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

10. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account; on Android, Profile → Settings → Delete Account) or request deletion without the app. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
11. International data transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and our providers’ security commitments.
12. Children’s privacy
Linkker is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
13. This website and cookies
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when you visit. The website is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs.
The Linkker apps and extension use local storage on your device to keep you signed in and remember your settings.
14. Regional privacy laws
14.1 GDPR (European Economic Area and UK)
We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), based on our legitimate interests (security, improvement), to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent where required. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
14.2 California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
14.3 India (DPDP Act)
If you are in India, you may access, correct and erase your personal data and nominate another person to exercise your rights, by contacting us at the email below.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date, and for material changes we will let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
